죽을힘을 다하여서 고삐를 매었지만
제멋 데로 날뛰는 소 길 들이기 어렵 구나
어느 때는 언덕으로 겨우 끌고 갔으나
이내 다시 숲속으로 달아나고 마는 구나

채찍과 고삐로서 부지런히 다스림은
혹시나 딴 길들까 두려웠기 때문이네
이제야 길이 들어 서로가 낯익으니
고삐를 안 메어도 순순히 따라 오네

소를 타고 느긋하게 집으로 가는 길
늴리리 피리 불며 저녁노을 한가 롭네
한 곡조 한가락에 깊은 뜻 담겼으나
구태여 알아줄 이 구하여서 무엇 하리
