나무꾼이 신이 나서 개암나무 열매를
주머니에 마구 주워 담았어요.

이렇게 먹고도 많이 남았다니,
아버지 어머니께서 무척 좋아하실 거야!”
나무꾼이 다시 나무를 베려고 하는 그 순간,
후두두두둑 비가 오기 시작했어요!
“앗! 갑자기 소나기가 오네? 어떡하지?”
나무꾼이 주위를 둘러보다
저 멀리 집이 있는 것을 발견했어요!
그리고 얼른 나무를 주워 담아
지게를 지고 그곳으로 피했어요.
“하… 다행이다. 오늘은 나무를 꽤 많이 했는데
비 때문에 다 젖을 뻔했네.
여기서 좀 쉬었다가 가야지…”
나무꾼은 안도의 한숨을 쉬고 지게를 내려놓고
비를 피해 집 안으로 들어갔어요.
“계세요? 안에 아무도 안 계세요~?”
집 안에는 여기저기 거미줄이 쳐져 있고
아무도 살지 않는 것 같았어요.
찍 찍찍! 게다가 생쥐들이 여기저기 뛰어다니며
벽의 구멍을 들어갔다 나갔다 했죠.!
“아.. 이곳은 아무도 살지 않는 빈집이구나…
그런데 왜 이렇게 찬 바람이 쌩쌩 불지..?”
나무꾼의 말대로 정말 신기하게도 빈집 안에는
계속 어디선가 찬 바람이 들어왔어요.
그런데 갑자기 어디선가 조그마한 소리가
나무꾼의 귓가에 들렸어요.
“흠~ 이 집에 들어온 너는 누구냐~?!”
“으앗..! 뭐.. 뭐야? 어디서 들리는 소리지…?”
“흐흐흐 어두워서 안 보이겠지만
나는 너의 바로 오른쪽 귓구멍에 있다고~”
나무꾼이 식은땀을 흘리며

나무꾼을 쳐다보고 있었어요..!
