펭귄의 천적입니다.

펭돌이와 펭순이는 더 멀리멀리 나아갔습니다.
“펭돌아, 저것 봐!”
“와, 이렇게 드넓은 곳이 있다니!
남극이 이렇게 넓었어?”
처음 보는 넓은 세상을 감탄하며 구경했습니다.
왜 진작 멀리 나올 용기를
내지 못했을까 생각하며
남극의 아름다움에 정신없이 빠져들었습니다.
“펭순아, 이제 그만 돌아가자.
너무 멀리 와서 돌아가려고 해도 한참 걸리겠어.”
펭순이와 펭돌이는 아쉬움을 뒤로하고
발걸음을 돌렸습니다.

수쿠아가 펭돌이를 공격했습니다.

펭돌이를 잡아먹으려 했습니다.

펭귄들을 보게 되었습니다.
마침 배가 고팠던 바다표범은
펭귄들을 잡아먹으려고 빠르게 헤엄쳤습니다.
“다시 올라가, 올라가!”
펭돌이와 펭순이는 바다표범을 피해
다시 얼음 위로 올라갔습니다.
둘은 수쿠아의 눈에
띄지 않기 위해서
작은 얼음 동굴 안으로 숨었습니다.
왜 어른들이 멀리 나가지 말라고 했는지,
조심하라고 했는지 이제야 이해가 됐습니다.
집으로 돌아가고 싶었던 아기 펭귄들은
엄마를 생각하며 눈물지었습니다.
“엄마, 보고 싶어.”
밤이 늦었는데 아기 펭귄들이 돌아오지 않자
펭귄 마을에는 난리가 났습니다.
펭돌이와 펭순이는 얼음 미끄럼틀에도 없었고
바다 근처에서도 보이지 않았습니다.
“우리 다 함께 아이들을 찾으러 나갑시다!”
펭귄들은 다 같이 모여
펭돌이와 펭순이를 찾으러 나갔습니다.
무리 지어 나온 펭귄들을 제일 먼저 발견한 건
하늘 위의 수쿠아였습니다.

내가 공격을 할 수가 없겠군.

포기하고 떠났습니다.

멀리서 그리운 엄마의 목소리가 들려왔습니다.
펭돌이와 펭순이는
얼른 얼음 동굴 밖으로 나갔습니다.

펭돌이와 펭순이를 찾고 있었습니다.

펭돌이와 펭순이는 달려가 엄마에게 안겼습니다.
